Various political party leaders have affirmed their commitment to collaborate on national issues, even while acknowledging their differences in opinion. This commitment was highlighted during a "Green Legacy" tree-planting event organized by the Ethiopian Political Parties Joint Council in Bishoftu.
The event saw participation not only from the Ethiopian Political Parties Joint Council but also from regional and city administration joint councils. Leaders of the political parties present at the tree-planting program emphasized the significant national benefit of the Green Legacy initiative. They stated that this multi-faceted program requires the cooperation of all stakeholders.
Solomon Ayele, chairperson of the Ethiopian Political Parties Joint Council, underscored that the council's tree-planting effort symbolizes unity. He reiterated that political parties will continue to strengthen their collaborative work on national and patriotic matters.
Meles Alem, Minister for Democracy Culture Building within the Prosperity Party, remarked that close cooperation among parties is crucial for the growth of the country's democratic culture. He added that the parties' participation in the impactful Green Legacy initiative demonstrates their ability to work together on unifying issues and strengthen the democratic system.
Meanwhile, a peace consultation forum, currently underway with the theme "The Role of Political Parties in Consolidating Peace," continued today.
