The current Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Mouhammed Ali Yousef, yesterday wrapped up a series of high-level meetings in New York, focusing on strengthening partnerships with the United Nations (UN) and the European Union (EU).
During his visit, Yousef engaged in crucial bilateral discussions with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, where they reviewed ongoing joint initiatives and explored new avenues for collaboration on peace, security, and development across Africa. They reaffirmed their commitment to multilateralism and addressing global challenges with a unified approach.
Following these bilateral talks, a trilateral meeting was held, bringing together the AU, UN, and EU. This session underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in tackling complex issues facing the African continent, such as climate change, humanitarian crises, and socio-economic development.
