Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie, delivered a strong message today, calling on citizens to "break free from the chain of brokers" and utilize the government's modernized public service delivery system.

The mayor’s appeal came as she officially inaugurated the Bole Branch of the Addis Mesob One-Stop Service Center (Modern Ethiopia Service for Organized Benefit).

The new center is designed to streamline government services, bringing together 12 City Administration institutions and 3 Federal institutions to offer a total of 96 distinct City Administration services under a single roof.

During the launch, Mayor Adanech affirmed, "We are strengthening the work we started to make the public service delivery system in our city organized and efficient."

She stressed that the true measure of the government's development work is efficient service delivery. The mayor strongly advised citizens to use the center provided by the government, which is designed to reduce hassle, and thereby avoid exposing themselves to malpractices and corruption (brokering).
