Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) asserted, "We must believe that we can truly transform our society if we align our resources with the right priorities."
The Prime Minister announced on his social media page that the handover ceremony for model rural villages constructed in Hadiya and Silte Zones took place today, following a similar event on Wednesday for villages in Halaba and Kembata Zones.
He explained that these three-bedroom residences—equipped with a biogas appliance for cooking, a solar power generator, a chicken coop, and a separate animal shelter—demonstrate the dream they hold for the prosperity of the rural community by providing a superior dwelling at a reasonable cost using local inputs.
"As a society, we may face the challenge of testing new ideas with the old, 'impossible' mindset," the Prime Minister noted. He cautioned, however, that "we must not fall into a mental trap that leads us to disbelief and rejection of tangible, achieved results."
He emphasized that citizens must believe change is possible and that they can indeed elevate the community if they commit their resources to the correct priorities.
Concluding his remarks, PM Abiy stated that the work done in the four zones must be replicated across the entire region, expressing his confidence that the regional leadership will execute this great task.
