The government of Ethiopia has officially launched Digital 2030. This successor strategy aims to significantly enhance public service delivery through increased automation and machine input. This comes following the successful conclusion of the Digital 2025 Strategy, which focused on technology-led modernization.
Simultaneously, recognizing the paramount importance of access to justice for all citizens, the Federal High Court is moving resolutely to establish a rapid, transparent, and effective judicial system.
A significant milestone was announced today with the deployment of a new Smart Court System. This innovation ensures the meticulous recording of all court proceedings by employing audio-to-text conversion technology, with all records subsequently stored securely.
Crucially, the system allows justice seekers to remotely follow their cases, eliminating the need for them to travel to Addis Ababa for physical court appearances.
The court has also developed a Network Operation Center and an Integrated Case Management System (ICMS), enabling litigants to track their cases digitally. The initiative is already operational across 24 Federal branch offices, with plans for a rapid expansion into regional states anticipated soon.
