Ethiopia is gearing up to celebrate National Flag Day on Monday, October 13, 2025, an occasion that serves as a powerful testament to national pride and sovereignty.

This year’s observance will be held under the inspiring and forward-looking theme: "Our Flag: A Harbinger of Ethiopia’s Great Era of Ascent, for Our National Unity, Sovereignty, and Renaissance!"

The National Flag, revered as a profound manifestation of national unity and freedom, is etched upon the heart of every Ethiopian. The celebration, which is now in its 18th year, is considered a major national holiday that recognizes the flag as an essential symbol of the nation’s sovereignty, political authority, and social cohesion.

Led by the House of People's Representatives (HPR), events are scheduled nationwide, including simultaneous flag-raising ceremonies and oath-taking ceremonies at 10:30 AM in federal institutions, regional states, city administrations, military camps, and Ethiopian missions around the world.
