Ethio Telecom has held discussions with the international company TINNO Global regarding a collaboration aimed at accelerating the accessibility of modern smartphones and boosting digital inclusion.

The meeting featured Frehiwot Tamiru, CEO of Ethio Telecom, and Andy Meng, Vice President of TINNO Global Company.

Their conversation focused on joint initiatives to expand the availability of affordable, modern smart devices throughout Ethiopia and the rest of Africa.

During the exchange, Frehiwot Tamiru emphasized that Ethio Telecom possesses a vast customer base, extensive network infrastructure, and strong market potential. She noted that this partnership is essential to bridge the digital usage gap, enhance digital skills, and empower people in rural areas with digital capabilities. Frehiwot stressed that this initiative directly aligns with the company's strategy, “Next Horizon: Digital & Beyond 2028.”

For his part, Andy Meng expressed TINNO's strong commitment and interest in establishing a modern smartphone manufacturing plant in Ethiopia to supply the market with affordable smart devices.
