Ethiopia is on the cusp of making history with its ambitious Green Legacy initiative, aiming to plant an astounding 700 million tree seedlings in a single day. Preparations for this monumental undertaking are now complete, according to Aberu Tena, Chief Executive of Green Legacy and Artificial Forest Development at Ethiopia's Forest Development.

The nationwide planting event is scheduled to take place across all regions of Ethiopia, running from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Aberu confirmed to EBCDotStream that all necessary arrangements have been finalized to ensure the success of this unprecedented environmental push.

This initiative, Aberu emphasized, will further solidify Ethiopia's global standing as a proactive leader in the fight against climate change. Despite the country's minimal contribution to global carbon emissions, the Green Legacy program underscores its commitment to environmental restoration and sustainable development.
