Ethiopia's National Green Legacy Technical Committee is employing a rigorous scientific methodology to ensure the precise counting of all planted seedlings, as confirmed by Tewodros Kassahun, a technology expert with the committee.

Tewodros explained that the process begins with regional authorities identifying and mapping previously unplanted areas, which then become designated sites for the tree-planting initiatives. From the very start of the planting process, reporters are present at each site, meticulously documenting both the planting procedures and the volume of seedlings put into the ground.

He emphasized that all reported figures undergo a scientific calculation, which involves cross-referencing them with the allocated land area. The system is designed to reject any numbers that fall outside the expected range, preventing both overestimations and underestimations. This meticulous and systematic approach guarantees that only verified counts of planted seedlings are centrally recorded, thereby eliminating any potential discrepancies in the national greening effort.
