The Ethiopian government is asserting its full capacity and readiness to successfully conduct the upcoming 7th National Election, promising it will be the "best and most organized election ever held" in the country. "We are committed to ensuring that the process is democratic and reflects a plurality of voices," PM Abiy stated. The ruling party and administration are "fully prepared" and encourage all competing political groups to also begin their necessary preparations.
Nationwide Expansion of One-Stop Service Centers
The government is dramatically expanding its one-stop service initiative, designed to reduce bottlenecks in service delivery, PM Abiy added.
Currently, 18 centers are operational, but there are plans to increase this number to 100 within the current fiscal year. This major expansion is expected to bring about a significant improvement in how services are delivered to the public across the nation.
Corridor Development: A Shift in Space and Community Building
Discussing the ongoing Corridor Development projects, PM Abiy Ahmed highlighted their transformative impact, claiming the initiative "changes the perception of space and time."
A prime example cited is the capital, Addis Ababa, where more than a thousand new sports facilities have been constructed. This investment is credited with the return of many young people to sports and is viewed as a crucial component of "building a community."
"It is also an effort that is healing the broken psyche of a generation," the premier noted, emphasizing that this positive impact is evident and widely recognized by the populace.
