Ethiopia's True Transformation Driven by Resilience, Innovation, Hard Work Says PM Abiy

Oct 29, 2025

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) asserted that "the true transformation of our country is led by our own resilience, innovation, and hard work." The statement came as the prime minister toured the East Shewa Zone today, emphasizing the nation's progress in modernizing its agricultural sector. During his visit, Dr. Abiy assessed the successful harvest and productivity achieved through the recently completed rainy season (Kiremt) wheat development program before officially launching the dry season (Bega) wheat cultivation initiative.

He also took the opportunity to observe cluster-farming activities for high-value crops, including bananas, papayas, and fish. The Prime Minister noted the ongoing expansion of mechanization, which is increasingly replacing traditional farming methods and boosting the region's agricultural efficiency and productivity.

He reflected that early adoption of modern farming techniques would have resulted in significantly higher output previously but confirmed that, at present, productivity is consistently increasing year after year. Concluding his remarks in a social media post, Prime Minister Abiy stressed that genuine growth is self-reliant, stating emphatically that no external support can substitute for the national commitment to resilience, innovation, and hard work.
