PM Abiy Ahmed Commends Local Development in Kemise, Highlights "Bounty of the Basket" Initiative

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed visited Kemise Town in the Oromia Zone of the Amhara Regional State this morning, marking his first official visit to the zone.

The Prime Minister praised the town's initial efforts in corridor development, specifically highlighting a 1.3 km bicycle lane and pedestrian walkway.

"Kemise’s early-stage corridor development efforts, featuring a modest 1.3 km bicycle lane and pedestrian walkway, are commendable," PM Abiy tweeted. "They demonstrate that corridor development initiatives are being embraced at all levels, with a shared vision of elevating public space standards across the country."

During his visit, PM Abiy also toured the Elfora Agro-Industries integrated agricultural development plant. He emphasized the plant's significant contribution to the national "Bounty of the Basket" (Ye Lemat Tirufat) initiative, a key program aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring food security.
