Saudi Business Delegation Shows Interest in Ethiopia’s Agro-Processing, Pharmaceutical Sectors

Ambassador Muktar Kedir (PhD) announced that a Saudi Arabian business delegation, comprising more than 60 members, has expressed strong interest in investing in Ethiopia’s agro-processing and pharmaceutical sectors, specifically within the Bole Lemi Special Economic Zone.

The large delegation, led by Dr. Muktar Kedir, Ethiopia's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and Abdullah AlAjmi, Chairman of the Ethio-Saudi Joint Business Council, toured the operations within the Bole Lemi Special Economic Zone.

Ambassador Muktar Kedir (PhD) noted that a joint business council forum between the two nations is currently underway in Addis Ababa to facilitate and encourage Saudi investors to inject capital into Ethiopia.

The Ambassador further stated that he is focused on strengthening the trade and investment activities of Saudi investors in the country, particularly within the Special Economic Zones.

He specifically highlighted the presence of investors within the delegation who have shown a concrete interest in entering the agro-processing and pharmaceutical investment sectors.
