Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim today visited the Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa, a landmark described as a standing symbol of pride for Black people worldwide.
During the high-level visit, Addis Ababa Mayor Adanech Abiebie formally welcomed the prime minister, extending her best wishes on behalf of the city administration.
In a statement regarding the premier’s visit, Mayor Adanech emphasized the historical significance of the location and the warmth of the capital.
"On behalf of myself and the City Administration, I wish His Excellency a fruitful stay in the Land of Origins, Ethiopia, and in our beautiful capital, Addis Ababa," Mayor Adanech stated.
She concluded her welcome with a message of goodwill, saying, "May God bless Ethiopia and her people."
