In a social media post, PM Abiy Ahmed celebrated the reciprocal nature of the high-level engagement:

“Last year, I made an official visit to Malaysia, and one year later, I have the honor of welcoming Honorable Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of the Federation of Malaysia. This exchange of visits is a testament to our deepening partnership…”

The leaders’ talks resulted in the signing of several key documents designed to strengthen bilateral and intercity ties:

  • Agreement on Air Services
  • Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in the Fields of Tourism
  • Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in Health
  • Collaboration Document between the Kuala Lumpur City Council and the Addis Ababa City Administration

PM Abiy concluded by highlighting the leaders' unified goal: “During our bilateral talks, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to further solidify and expand our cooperation.”
