Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s leading carrier, has signed a significant agreement with Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, at the Dubai Air Show, committing to a substantial upgrade of its premium cabin seating solutions across multiple fleets.
The initiative aims to dramatically enhance passenger comfort and privacy on both wide-body and narrow-body aircraft. As part of the deal, eleven new Airbus A350-900 aircraft will be fitted with the high-end Collins Elevation suites, featuring private doors, generous living space, and lie-flat capability for an optimized long-haul experience.
Furthermore, fifty-six of the airline's Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will receive the Parallel Diamond business class seats. These seats introduce wide-body comfort to the single-aisle fleet, converting into a 78-inch lie-flat bed to better serve the carrier’s longer-range missions.
This collaboration strengthens the airline’s commitment to providing a consistent, world-class in-flight experience, building on the relationship established when Collins was selected to provide Elevation suites for Ethiopian's upcoming Boeing 777-9 order.
According to Ethiopian Airlines Group Chief Operating Officer Retta Melaku, this investment in advanced seating technology reflects the airline’s dedication to customer comfort and innovation, enhancing privacy and truly embodying the essence of Ethiopian hospitality.
