Mayor Adanech Abiebie asserted that "Addis Ababa is our shared home where everyone has left their mark" while delivering a speech during the city’s celebration of the 20th Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples’ Day. The event featured various programs across the capital.

Addressing attendees, the mayor elaborated on the significance of the annual holiday. She affirmed that celebrating the day is a critical means of "further affirming the foundation of our journey toward comprehensive prosperity and strengthening our unity while shining brightly in our diversity."

The 20th ENNP Day celebration, held under the unifying theme “Democratic Consensus for Multinational Unity,” also served as a moment to renew national commitment. The mayor emphasized this point further on her social media page, stating:

"Because Ethiopia is a land of ancient origin, a visually inexhaustible nation, and a nation rich in cultural heritage assets and a history of heroism, we must strive hand-in-hand to ensure it remains respected and honored from generation to generation."

The celebration in the capital drew high-level participation, including Agegnehu Teshager, Speaker of the House of Federation; Lomi Bado, Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples’ Representatives; Speakers of the Councils of all Regional States; and various other senior government executives.
