The Ministry of Industry and Ethio Telecom have officially launched a modern Business-to-Business (B2B) e-commerce platform called E-Tamert.
The platform is designed to connect manufacturing industries to each other and facilitate their transition to digital marketing.
Key Objectives
Supply Chain: Minister of Industry, Melaku Alebel, stated that E-Tamert will enable the manufacturing industry to solve problems related to the supply of products.
Market Reach: It will allow manufacturers to present their products to the local and African market in a cost-effective way.
Competitiveness: The platform is expected to play a significant role in increasing production capacity, encouraging innovation, and ensuring the country's sustainable international competitiveness.
Import Substitution: E-Tamert is touted to have a great advantage in increasing the competitiveness of domestic products and supporting the effort to replace imported products. The platform is seen as key in the country's transition from a consumer-based economy to a manufacturer-based economy.
Minister Aklewum emphasized that a manufacturing industry not supported by a modern marketing system will not be successful.
Manufacturing industry sector representatives have confirmed that the platform will solve market and supply chain challenges, improve the competitiveness of domestic industry products, and create new hope for the sector.
The exhibition and registration program, currently organised at the science museum, will continue until 2nd January 2026.
