Ethiopian Airlines, Africa's largest carrier, has announced the launch of direct passenger flights from Addis Ababa (ADD) to Jizan (GIZ), Saudi Arabia, effective next February (February 2026).
The new service to the Red Sea port city of Jizan, which is also a growing tourist destination, is expected to significantly enhance trade, tourism, and people-to-people relations between Africa and the Middle East.
5th Destination in Saudi Arabia: Jizan will become Ethiopian Airlines' fifth passenger destination in the Kingdom, joining existing services to Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, and Medina.
Strong Regional Presence: The airline currently operates a high-frequency service to Saudi Arabia, with 40 weekly flights to its four current destinations.
Strengthening Ties: The airline stated the new route will play a pivotal role in strengthening the overall commercial and cultural ties between African nations and countries in the Middle East.
The pan-African carrier has built a formidable reputation in air transport, driven by extensive agreements with various global airlines, ensuring reliable air travel to its growing network.
