Ethio Telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamiru has announced that the company’s "Digital Ethiopia 2025" objectives are seeing record success, with mobile subscribers surging to 97 million. Speaking on the sector's rapid growth, she noted that 57 million of these users are now connected to the internet, while 4G network coverage has expanded to 1,030 towns across the nation.

Looking toward the next phase of transformation, Frehiwot detailed the "Digital Ethiopia 2030 Strategy," which targets a subscriber base of 128 million and 100% 5G network coverage. Central to this roadmap is a financial revolution; the CEO emphasized that digital payments are projected to grow sevenfold, significantly increasing their contribution to Ethiopia's national GDP by the end of the decade.
