In a call for national unity, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has rejected the concept of regional or ethnic hierarchies, stating that all parts of the country must be considered equal.

The Prime Minister declared that there is no such thing as a "first-class" Jimma, Harar, Adwa, or Gondar, stating instead that "only Ethiopia is first-class."

He emphasized that the country cannot move forward without an integrated Ethiopian concept where all groups—specifically naming Tigray, Amhara, Oromo, Wolayta, Gurage, Somali, and Afar—are equal. "If we do not allow for this, we will struggle to achieve what we envision," he warned.
