Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is set to visit Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, and Lesotho from January 7 to 12. The visit, which comes at the invitation of the respective nations, was announced by the Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
In addition to his state visits, Wang Yi—a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee—will attend the launching ceremony of the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges at the African Union (AU) Headquarters.
This tour marks a significant diplomatic milestone, representing the 36th consecutive year that Africa has been the destination for the Chinese Foreign Minister’s first overseas trip of the year.
