The Ministry of Tourism has extended a warm invitation for the upcoming Timket festival under the theme: "Come! Let us celebrate Timket in the land of ancient Ethiopia."

There are only three days remaining until the grand celebration of Timket, a festival recognized globally by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

The Ministry of Tourism noted that the country is currently immersed in a unique atmosphere. This includes the sounds of spiritual preparations echoing from various churches, city streets newly beautified through "corridor development"projects, and a nation fully prepared to welcome its guests.

From Ketera(the eve of Timket) to Kana Ze-Gelila(the celebration of the Wedding at Cana); the Ministry described the magnificent scenes across the nation—in historic Gondar, Batu, Lalibela, Jan Meda in Addis Ababa, Axum, and Gambella—as visually breathtaking and a source of peace for the soul.

Only three days remain until the climax of the festival, where priests perform the sacred Yaredic chants and liturgical dances (shibsheba), while the faithful accompany the Tabots(holy replicas of the Ark of the Covenant) to the baptismal waters with traditional dances and jubilant celebrations.

The Ministry of Tourism invites everyone to travel to the ancient land of Ethiopia to partake in this festival, which offers profound joy for both the soul and the body.
