Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has expressed his deep sorrow following the sudden passing of Netsanet Workneh, a prominent Ethiopian actor, comedian, and television host.

In a statement, the Prime Minister praised Netsanets vibrant spirit and his role in national celebrations. "I will always remember his contribution, especially during the 2016 [Ethiopian Calendar] New Year celebration at the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam," the PM noted, adding that the artist helped the nation welcome the year with joy. He extended his heartfelt condolences to Netsanets family and his many fans.
