Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed told Parliament on Tuesday that the government is working "intensively"to ensure the upcoming 7th general election is peaceful, fair, and surpasses the standards of previous cycles. Addressing inquiries from members of the House of Peoples Representatives, the Prime Minister took a results-oriented stance on the democratic process.
"Regarding the election, my response to the Ethiopian people is: let us judge it by the results,"PM Abiy stated. He expressed firm confidence that the next parliament would serve as a forum for "diverse voices,"promising that all participating political forces would benefit from a peaceful and inclusive electoral environment.
