The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has announced that voter registration for the 7th General Election will commence on March 7, 2026.

The Board held a press briefing today regarding its pre-election activities and recent administrative decisions.

During the briefing, NEBE Chairperson Melatework Hailu stated that while voter registration was originally scheduled to run from February 14 to March 16 (Yekatit 7 to Megabit 7), the start date has been pushed to March 7 to allow for the completion of remaining preparatory works.

Consequently, the Board has also extended the deadline for candidate registration to March 25, 2026.
