African Leaders Arrive in Addis Ababa for 39th AU Summit

High-level delegations have begun arriving in Addis Ababa for the 39th African Union (AU) Summit, scheduled to take place this coming Saturday and Sunday. The assembly is being held under the theme: "Ensuring Sustainable Water Supply and Safe Sanitation Systems for the Success of Agenda 2063 Goals."

Upon their arrival at Bole International Airport, the leaders were received by senior Ethiopian government officials:

Côte d'Ivoire: President Alassane Ouattara arrived and was welcomed by the Minister of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Belete Molla.

Algeria: Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb arrived to represent his country and was received by the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birhanu Tsegaye.

Zimbabwe: President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwahas arrived to participate in the high-level discussions.

Gabon: President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema is also in Addis Ababa to join his fellow heads of state for the summit.

The 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly is expected to focus on continental integration, climate resilience, and the strategic implementation of the AU's "Agenda 2063" framework.
