Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has called for a transition from "foundational unity to functional sovereignty" for Africa, emphasizing that the continent must own its narrative and design its own systems. A major highlight of his address was the announcement of a new Artificial Intelligence University, anchored in the Ethiopian philosophy of Medemer (synergy). This follows the 2020 establishment of Africa’s first AI Institute.

The Prime Minister also showcased Ethiopia’s leadership in climate action and digital transformation:

• Environmental Stewardship: Under the Green Legacy Initiative, Ethiopia has planted over 48 billion trees. The PM announced that Ethiopia is preparing to host COP32, advocating for climate action anchored in justice and equity.
• Digital Infrastructure: Through "Digital Ethiopia 2030," the government is linking the national digital ID (Fayda) with payment systems to drive a secure, citizen-centered economy.
• Human Capital: Addressing the demographic shift of 2035, the PM noted that Ethiopia is scaling school feeding programs and early childhood education to ensure the youth are prepared to contribute to the global workforce.

The prime minister urged African nations to shape global agendas rather than merely responding to crises, stating, "This is our moment, and this is our responsibility."
