The 39th African Union Summit, which has been taking place in Addis Ababa under the theme “Ensuring Sustainable Water Supply and Safe Sanitation Systems: Success for Agenda 2063 Goals,” officially concluded today.
During the session, heads of state and government deliberated on the key agendas previously reviewed by the 48th Ordinary Session of the AU Executive Council.
Among the primary topics addressed were water security and sanitation, the implementation of Agenda 2063, and regional integration. The leaders also focused on socio-economic development, human capital development, institutional and financial reforms, regional partnerships, and Africa’s role on the global stage.
At the closing ceremony, Ethiopia received commendations for the warm hospitality extended to the leaders in the beautiful African capital, Addis Ababa.
The two-day summit, which served as a platform for critical continental issues, concluded after passing several key resolutions aimed at the continent's advancement.
