The bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Türkiye is evolving beyond a standard strategic partnership, with experts noting that it is now resting on a "rock-solid"foundation.
Dr. Brook Hailu, a scholar of Political Science and International Relations, stated that Turkish investors are heavily committing capital to Ethiopia. He attributed this influx to the country's reliable investment climate and the high level of diplomatic priority the government has accorded to the relationship.
Professor Brook Hailu further noted that Türkiye currently ranks among the leading sources of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)in Ethiopia. He highlighted the significant role Turkish firms play in introducing Ethiopian textile and garment products to the global market.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that Turkish companies are notable contributors to large-scale job creation within Ethiopia. The scholar mentioned that Ethiopias efforts to solidify its status as Africas diplomatic hub have increased the confidence that global powers, such as Türkiye, place in the nation.
Dr. Brook explained that the reform measures taken by the government to encourage FDI are yielding tangible results. He pointed out that this bilateral bond serves as an exemplary model for regional stability and economic growth.
This partnership, described as being "set in stone,"is expected to expand beyond trade and politics into sectors such as technology transfer and education. Such cooperation is anticipated to accelerate Ethiopia's ongoing journey toward prosperity while ensuring the mutual benefit of the people of both nations.
