National voter registration officially commenced across Ethiopia today, marking a key milestone in the country’s democratic calendar.

Reports from regional hubs including Oromia, Benishangul-Gumuz, and Afar, as well as the capital, Addis Ababa, indicate a steady turnout as citizens arrive at designated polling stations to secure their spot on the electoral roll.

Election officials confirmed that the process is being conducted peacefully and remains strictly aligned with the pre-announced national schedule. Speaking from several registration centers, voters expressed their commitment to exercising their democratic rights, citing the importance of participation in shaping the nation's future governance.
