The Emerta Library is a project built using funds obtained from the sale of the book Medemer by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The library is constructed on an area of more than 1,000 square meters and was built with modern infrastructure with three floors, including a terrace space so that users can read and use the services while enjoying the pleasant climate of Dire Dawa.
The library includes a Braille reading section, an IT center designed for users with special needs, outdoor reading areas, private and group reading and study rooms, and a conference hall. Overall, the Library was built to serve up to 1,000 people at a time, and its bookshelves alone have the capacity to hold up to 1 million books.
