Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has stated that Ethiopia’s path to prosperity is fundamentally rooted in the healthy relationships and collective efforts of its citizens.
In his message conveyed on the occasion of the 1,447th Eid al-Fitr, the Prime Minister emphasized that lasting peace, democracy, and prosperity can only be realized when citizens maintain a harmonious balance with their Creator, themselves, and their communities.
The Prime Minister’s address focused on two pivotal themes:
Peace and Internal Harmony
Highlighting the importance of inner peace, the Prime Minister remarked, "One who lives in conflict with oneself cannot find harmony with others." He noted that those who perceive war and destruction as feats of heroism are ultimately at odds with their own conscience and their Creator. Drawing on the core Islamic principle of peace, he urged citizens to integrate the Ramadan values of forgiveness and tolerance into their daily social interactions.
Turning to the country’s political future, the Prime Minister described the upcoming elections as a gateway to a brighter era for the nation. He underscored that a true democratic system is built on the foundation of the rule of law and cooperation, rather than discord or instability.
"The best among people are those who strive to benefit others," the Prime Minister added, calling on all citizens to play their part in ensuring Ethiopia remains a respected and dignified nation through the dedication of its people.
