The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has earned formal recognition from Mastercard for its outstanding performance in generating high volumes of foreign currency inflows through the use of Mastercard services. A delegation led by Mastercard’s East Africa Director, Sherif Ali, visited the bank’s headquarters today to present the award to CBE President, Abe Sano.

The recognition highlights CBE’s achievement over the past six months, where it facilitated an average monthly inflow of over $4 million in foreign currency using the Mastercard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS). 

During the visit, the delegation held in-depth discussions with the bank's senior leadership regarding strategic initiatives and future directions. The talks focused on the ongoing partnership, service delivery, and enhancing customer satisfaction. According to information from the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, both institutions have committed to further strengthening their collaboration to improve service quality and financial integration moving forward.
