Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have held extensive discussions aimed at elevating their bilateral trade exchange and expanding market linkages.
Dr. Jamal Beker, Ethiopia's Special Envoy and Ambassador Plenipotentiary to the UAE, consulted with the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, regarding trade relations between the two nations.
During the meeting, Ambassador Jamal noted that trade relations between the two countries are growing rapidly. He emphasized Ethiopia's readiness to further increase the volume of trade, given the vast opportunities available.
The Ambassador explained that the Ethiopian government is specifically focused on ensuring that high-quality agricultural products, such as coffee, meat, sesame, fruits, vegetables, and pulses are supplied to the UAE market on a large scale.
For his part, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed stated that Ethiopia is a key trade partner for the UAE and confirmed that the demand for Ethiopian products in the UAE market is steadily increasing.
To further facilitate trade ties and overcome market barriers, the Minister noted that relevant institutions from both countries will work in coordination to streamline customs and logistics processes.
According to information obtained from the Ethiopian Embassy in the UAE, the meeting concluded with an agreement to organize a series of trade forums designed to create direct business links between exporters and importers from both nations.
