Ethiopia’s Minister of Defense, Engineer Aisha Mohammed, hosted the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Liberia, Brigadier General Geraldine Janet George, today to discuss elevating bilateral military cooperation.
The ministers engaged in strategic dialogue focused on scaling up the defense relationship between the two nations. Highlighting the historical significance of the meeting, Engineer Aisha Mohammed noted that as the two primary symbols of African independence, Ethiopia and Liberia share a unique bond that serves as a foundation for their modern security partnership. She reaffirmed Ethiopia’s readiness to collaborate on military industrial development and capacity building.
Brigadier General Geraldine Janet George expressed Liberia’s keen interest in drawing from Ethiopia’s extensive expertise in military science, modernization, and international peacekeeping missions. She emphasized that Liberia seeks to deepen cooperation specifically within the training and technical sectors.
This high-level meeting took place as part of the official working visit of Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to Ethiopia, according to Defense Online Media.
