Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) expressed his unwavering conviction that Ethiopia will undoubtedly become a leading power in Africa within the next ten years. He emphasized that realizing this great vision requires tireless, day-and-night labor to avoid "inheriting hardship," rather than relying on mere wishes or begging.
The Prime Minister explained that the work currently being done to ensure Ethiopia’s prosperity is laying a solid foundation for future generations. He noted that while the current generation may not fully reap the total rewards of this prosperity, their secret to diligence is the belief that their children and the generations to come will inherit a wealthy and thriving Ethiopia.
Addressing the current pace of reform and the results being achieved, the Prime Minister remarked that while many may not yet fully perceive the speed of change, Ethiopia’s journey is unstoppable. He assured that the country is steadily advancing by meeting basic needs step-by-step.
On the issues of integrity and work ethic, he stated, "Theft does not build a nation; a lack of diligence does not build a nation,"calling for the public to work with "clean hands," synergy (Medemer), and a shared vision. He noted that the beginning of a new era, one where Ethiopia breaks free from the cycle of hardship, hunger, and aid-dependency to stand tall on the global stage, is already within reach. To achieve this, he urged every citizen to play their part in the effort to rebuild the nation with a pure heart and a focus on results.
