Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has signaled the commencement of high-level preparations for Ethiopia’s role as the host of COP32, following the formal establishment and first sectoral review of the National Steering Committee.

In a message detailing the government's strategy, the Prime Minister emphasized that Ethiopia has brought together a multisectoral leadership team to guide the process with clarity and purpose. The newly formed Presidency has already begun laying the groundwork for what the Prime Minister described as a "coordinated and ambitious effort" to host the global climate summit.

During a convening of the National Steering Committee today, Prime Minister Abiy assessed current progress, identified existing gaps, and ensured all preparatory tracks remain aligned with the national vision. He noted that the platform serves as a vital space for both performance review and collective direction-setting.

"Our focus is clear: to move forward cohesively, with strong coordination, unified ambition, and a shared commitment to excellence in hosting this global program," the Prime Minister stated.
