Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has held a high-level meeting with Dr. Jean Kaseya, Director General of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), to discuss strategic priorities regarding his new role as the African Union (AU) Champion for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health.
The discussions focused on the essential role of innovation in driving Africa’s progress. The Prime Minister emphasized that as the continent navigates evolving health challenges, the integration of AI and digital technologies will be critical to strengthening health systems, expanding healthcare access, and improving public health outcomes.
Prime Minister Abiy reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to sharing its domestic technological experiences with other African nations and underscored the importance of forging strong partnerships to keep pace with the rapidly changing technological landscape.
