Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and First Lady Zinash Tayachew have inaugurated the Toyo Phase 2, Origin, and Lumintech solar factories, along with the HZ Gas plant at Hawassa Industrial Park.

Together, these solar facilities will generate an impressive 11.3 gigawatts of clean energy annually, while HZ Gas will produce 900 tons of oxygen, 40,000 tons of nitrogen, and 7 tons of hydrogen each year.

This milestone marks a major step forward in accelerating Ethiopia’s renewable energy drive, strengthening energy security while advancing a more sustainable and resilient future.
