Ethiopia’s Election a "Victory by All Metrics," Announce the Joint Council of Political Parties

The Joint Council of Ethiopian Political Parties has declared the 7th general election a historic and peaceful milestone that has made Ethiopia a winner by every measure.

Council Chairperson Solomon Ayele noted that the electoral process was inclusive from the outset, featuring broad participation from numerous political parties and hosting a series of mature policy debates.

The chairperson highlighted the historic nature of the event, noting that citizens turned out in large numbers from early morning until midnight to cast their votes, undeterred by rain, sun, or cold. He emphasized that the process concluded peacefully, ensuring meaningful inclusivity for all.

According to a report from ENA, Solomon credited the Council’s collaborative and dedicated efforts for the election's successful, peaceful, and democratic conclusion, characterizing the overall process as a resounding success.

While acknowledging the intense competition that defined the campaign, he urged all political parties to set aside their differences and stand hand-in-hand to pursue the overarching national goal of nation-building moving forward.
