On June 10, 2026, the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia officially released 22 certified election results for candidates who contested seats in regional councils and the House of People's Representatives during the 7th General Election in the Oromia, Amhara, Central Ethiopia, and Somali regions. These results include one seat for the House of People's Representatives in the Amhara region, nine regional council and seven House of People's Representatives seats in the Oromia region, and three certified results in Central Ethiopia.
Regarding the broader progress of the vote count, the Chairperson of the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia, Melatwork Hailu, announced today that 1,008 out of 1,139 total electoral constituency results have reached the verification center. This total includes 446 of the 501 constituencies for the House of People's Representatives and 562 of the 638 constituencies for regional councils. The remaining 131 results are currently in transit, delayed by distance and road conditions, and the Board is monitoring the situation to ensure they reach the center as quickly as possible.
Furthermore, the Chairperson confirmed that voting has concluded in internally displaced persons and military camps, and the tabulation of these results is underway. Addressing concerns over the process, she noted that complaints have been filed by parties and independent candidates across 120 constituencies. Legal experts assigned by the Board are currently investigating these grievances by examining documents and witness testimony; final decisions will be rendered based on the evidence presented. The Chairperson indicated that the overall final election results will be officially certified only after the investigations into these 120 contested constituencies have been concluded.
