Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has announced that Ethiopia has reached the milestone of 5,005,146 enrollments in the 5 Million Ethiopian Coders Initiative. Launched on July 23, 2024, the program covers programming, data analysis, Android development, and artificial intelligence fundamentals. The Prime Minister stated that what was set to be achieved in three years has been accomplished in less than two, calling the milestone a testament to the people's determination and potential.

Looking ahead, the Prime Minister announced a new vision of reaching 7 million enrollments by August 2026. He called upon all Ethiopians to participate in this national mission and encouraged students to use the summer to register for the free, internationally recognized courses to become certified digital leaders.
