State Minister of Health Dr. Dereje Duguma has inaugurated and officially launched a new kidney dialysis treatment center at St. Peter’s Specialized Hospital.

During the ceremony, Dr. Dereje noted that before the establishment of this center, the hospital could not provide comprehensive care for patients with kidney failure or the necessary support for those suffering from acute and severe kidney conditions, often forcing the facility to refer patients elsewhere.

To address this challenge, the hospital has installed four modern, internationally recognized dialysis machines.

The launch is part of broader efforts currently underway to transition St. Peter’s Specialized Hospital into a comprehensive specialized hospital.

Dr. Dereje expressed his gratitude to the Ethiopian Kidney Association, the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, and the hospital’s leadership, medical professionals, and staff for their significant contributions to the successful implementation of the new treatment center.
