The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has released the regional council results for the Harari, Central Ethiopia, and Sidama regional states following the 7th General Election held on June 1, 2026. In the Harari region’s 36-seat council, the Prosperity Party secured 32 seats, with the Ethiopian National Unity Party, the Freedom and Equality Party, the Harari Democratic Unity Party, and independent candidate Jemal Abagero Ahmed each winning one seat.
In the 170-seat Central Ethiopia regional council, the Prosperity Party won 143 seats, followed by the Ethiopian Citizens for Social Justice (EZEMA) with 12 seats, the Freedom and Equality Party with 7, the Cooperation for Ethiopian Unity and the Gogot for Guraghe Unity and Justice Party with 3 each, and the Wollo People’s Democratic and Welene People’s Democratic parties with 1 seat apiece.
Finally, for the 190 seats in the Sidama region, the Prosperity Party took 175, while the Ethiopian Federal Democratic Unity Forum secured 8, the Sidama Unity Party 3, and the Sidama People’s Unity Democratic Organization, Balderas for True Democracy, the Ethiopian Democratic Union, and the All Sidama People’s Democratic Unity Party each captured 1 seat.
