The National Rehabilitation Commission announced that it has, to date, facilitated the reintegration of 90,000 former combatants from four regions into the community.

The commission is currently actively engaged in disarmament, training, and reintegration programs for former combatants who were operating in the Oromia region and have accepted the government's call for peace.

During the event, National Rehabilitation Commission Commissioner Temesgen Tiruneh stated that 90,000 former combatants across four regions have already been successfully reintegrated. The Commissioner urged those completing their training and returning to civilian life to serve as torchbearers of change and ambassadors for peace within their communities.

Engineer Eba Gerba, Head of the Oromia Region Job Creation and Skills Bureau, who attended the program, stated that support will be provided to former combatants who have chosen the path of peace, enabling them to utilize the region's resources to transform their lives.

The former combatants who accepted the peace call expressed their readiness to seize the opportunity provided to transform themselves and make amends to the community.

High-ranking officials from the National Rehabilitation Commission and the Oromia Regional Government, as well as Abba Gadaas, were in attendance at the program.
