Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed underscored the vital role of domestic production in securing Ethiopia's economic sovereignty during a visit to the Yo Holding charcoal factory in the Gamo Zone today.
The facility, which launched operations last year, plays a critical role in import substitution by supplying local industries and reducing the nation's reliance on foreign goods. According to the Prime Minister, the enterprise has also boosted the local economy by creating job opportunities for residents.
Reaffirming the government's long-term economic strategy, PM Abiy stated that Ethiopia will continue to develop its natural resources through hard work and domestic investment to strengthen its economic self-reliance.
