Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed(PhD) has commended the steady progress of the Chano-Chencha Road Project, highlighting its upcoming role in improving regional connectivity and boosting local economic development.

The 29-kilometer infrastructure initiative encompasses the 22-kilometer Chano-Chencha main route alongside a 7-kilometer branch road connecting Ezo and Gircha. With 13.3 kilometers already completed, the Prime Minister noted that the finalized project will significantly ease travel and support sustained economic growth in the area.

During his visit to the region, the Prime Minister also inspected the newly renovated Dorze Lodge. The community-led tourism destination, which has been successfully operating since 2005, is situated on a cool, mountainous ridge spanning 40,000 square meters. The site is highly regarded for offering spectacular panoramic views of Lakes Abaya and Chamo, along with the natural landmark known as God’s Bridge.

Emphasizing the synergy between infrastructure and tourism, the Prime Minister stated that developing road networks alongside destinations like Dorze Lodge is essential for unlocking the region’s vast economic and cultural potential. He concluded his remarks by extending an open invitation to domestic citizens, the Ethiopian diaspora, and international travelers to visit and experience the area's extraordinary natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
