Final Document to Be Presented to 4,000 Participants Tomorrow: National Dialogue

Aug 19, 2026 185

The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission has completed consolidating discussion agendas and recommendations from eight working groups into a single unified document, marking its transition to the next phase, announced Deputy Chief Commissioner Hirut Gebreselassie.

The Deputy Chief Commissioner stated that the compilation process, carried out by 120 representatives drawn from all eight groups, required meticulous care and extended over several days. However, through efforts continuing late into yesterday evening, a single consolidated document covering all agendas and proposals was successfully prepared.

Under the current schedule, the draft document is being presented to each group. The Commissioner explained that this step allows every group to offer final comments and inputs on the proposed text.

Accordingly, all eight groups will review and provide feedback on each other’s recommendations. The compilation committee will incorporate the feedback gathered by the end of the evening to produce the final version.

Announcing that this historic document will be presented to 4,000 national dialogue participants tomorrow, the Commissioner highlighted the achievement as a major milestone in advancing the dialogue process.

She further urged the Ethiopian public to guard against distorted and false narratives, calling on citizens to follow accurate information exclusively through official commission statements and verified media outlets.
