Indian National Defence College Delegation Visits Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Ambassador Dewano Kedir, Director General for Middle East, Asia, and Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received a multinational delegation from India’s National Defence College today as part of their study visit to Ethiopia. The delegation was led by Major General Pawanpal Singh, Senior Directing Staff.

Welcoming the delegation, Ambassador Dewano underscored the longstanding historical bonds and steadily expanding diplomatic ties between Ethiopia and India. He highlighted the growing strategic partnership between the two nations, particularly in trade and investment, noting the significant contribution of Indian investors to Ethiopia’s economy. He also emphasized the robust, long-standing cooperation between the two countries in the defense sector.

Delegation members, representing India, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Germany, Myanmar, and Nepal, are visiting various Ethiopian institutions during their tour to gain a comprehensive understanding of Ethiopia and its strategic regional role.

The meeting also featured a presentation detailing Ethiopia’s current political and economic landscape, its regional engagement, and its broader role in international affairs.
